Anupam Kher recalls first meeting with wife Kirron Kher 50 years ago on her birthday

Anupam Kher and wife Kirron Kher have had a strong marriage for almost 40 years. Till date, the husband-wife are each other’s biggest cheerleaders. They don’t shy away from showing their admiration and affection for each other even on social media. And the birthday post for Kirron ji from Anupam ji is another addition to that.

June 14 marks Kirron Kher’s birthday and to mark that occasion, Anupam ji shared some unseen pics of the actress with friends and family. Along with it, he penned a heartfelt note for his wife, recalling their first meeting. He wrote, “Happy Birthday #Kirron! May God give you long, happy, peaceful and healthy life! I have known you for close to fifty years now. I saw you first time in 1974 at Deptt of #IndianTheatre in Chandigarh. You were the star student of #PanjabUniversity. Brilliant in studies, national Badminton player, established theatre actress and larger than life.”

He went on to insist how she hasn’t changed since then. Anupam ji said, “50years have passed. You are still the same or more. You have fought life’s toughest battles head on. And always emerged out as a winner. May you continue to win people’s love, trust and faith with your persona and goodness. Love and prayers always.” 

Anupam Kher-Kirron Kher’s relationship

Anupam ji met Kirron ji through theatre connection. The two veteran actors tied the knot in 1985. Both of them had been married before and Kirron ji also had her son Sikandar Kher from her first marriage. But since then, the couple has been going strong and have been each other’s support system. Even during Kirron ji’s fight with cancer, the couple stood by each other.
