Veteran actor Anupam Kher is presently shooting for ‘Hotel Mumbai’, a Hollywood film based upon the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The filming is taking place in Australia and Kher plays a star chef in it.
“The hotel has been recreated at Adelaide Studios. We are shooting the indoor scenes here.” Kher told a leading daily.
He will be essaying the character of Hemant Oberoi, the corporate chef of Taj Mahal hotel who, even amidst all the chaos post-attack, kept the kitchen running to serve the guests.
“It is not an autobiographical work. It is about what unfolded in those 68 hours at the hotel. It is a story of courage of the people who were working there.” Kher added. Due to contract clauses, he was not able to reveal much about his character, but we already know it is going to be a treat!
The film is a co-production of Hollywood and Australia, and interestingly, marks Kher’s 501st film.
