Veteran actor Anupam Kher, widely known for portraying unforgettable characters in highly acclaimed movies, is set to bring his acting prowess to another movie. The actor has pulled off a diverse range of characters in various movies. Anupam Kher will now be seen portraying the character of social reformer and writer, Rabindranath Tagore.
Anupam Kher shares his first look as Rabindranath Tagore
The actor took to his Instagram on Friday to share the first look of himself as the historic figure Rabindranath Tagore. while he shared his look as the character of Rabindranath Ji we can see the heavy amount of detailing and work put into it. Anupam Kher looks exactly like Rabindranath Tagore Ji in simple clothes from that time with a long white beard and hair.
Making the announcement, Anupam wrote, “Delighted to portray #Gurudev #RabindranathTagore in my 538th project. Will reveal the details in due course. Ye mere saubhagya hai ki mujhe gurudev ko parde par saakaar karne ka saubhagya parpt hua hai. Jald hi is film ki adhik jankaari apke sath sanjha krunga (It’s my good fortune that I have got the privilege to portray the character of Gurudev on screen. I will soon share all the information regarding the film).”
Anupam Kher has previously portrayed many other characters in various biopics and totally aced the roles. He also brought life to the character of the former prime minister of India Manmohan Singh in the movie The Accidental Prime Minister.Â
Many of you might have read him in the books of history. Rabindranath is a prominent writer, poet, philosopher and social reformer. He was the first Indian to win Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. For the unversed, he also wrote the national anthem of India.Â

On the work front, the actor has done over 500 movies and this one will be his 538th project. He will next be seen in Anurag Basu’s Metro…In Dino. The movie also stars Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan. In addition to that, he also has The Vaccine War, Kangana Ranaut’s movie The Emergency.Â
