Anupam Kher, Vivek Agnihotri REACT to IFFI jury head calling The Kashmir Files ‘propaganda, vulgar movie’

Last night, Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid, who headed the IFFI jury, grabbed attention after he called Anupam Kher starrer The Kashmir Files a ‘propganda’ and a ‘vulgar movie’. Anupam Kher has now reacted to IFFI jury head Nadav Lapid’s statement about his film. In a video shared by ANI, Anupam hoped ‘God gives him wisdom’.

Anupam was spotted outside a temple when he interacted with the paps. The actor said, “About The Kashmir Files, I would tell that individual that may God give him wisdom. I would just say that because speaking of such matters outside a temple isn’t right.”

He went on to add, “We’ll give a proper reply to it. If holocaust is right, the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits is right too. It seems pre-planned as immediately after that the toolkit gang became active. It’s shameful for him to make a statement like this. Jews have suffered holocaust and he comes from that community. For him to make such a statement, he has also pained those people who have been victims of this tragedy many years ago. May God give him wisdom so that he does not further his agenda on stage using the sufferings of thousands.”

Anupam Kher also took to Twitter and shared a bunch of pictures from his film along with Steven Spielberg starrer Schindler’s List. The veteran actor wrote, “No matter how high the height of the lie is… It is always small in comparison to the truth.”

For the uninitiated, while speaking about Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, IFFI jury said, “All of us were disturbed and shocked by the 15^th film, The Kashmir Files. That felt like a propaganda, vulgar movie, inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival. I feel totally comfortable to openly share these feelings here with you on this stage. In the spirit of this festival, can surely also accept a critical discussion, which is essential for art and life.”

Earlier today, Vivek Agnihotri too reacted to Nadav Lapid’s statement about his film. He took to Twitter and wrote, “GM. Truth is the most dangerous thing. It can make people lie #CreativeConsciousness.”

Apart from Anupam Kher, The Kashmir Files also starred Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, and Mithun Chakraborty among others.
