‘Bombay Velvet’ was one of the much-anticipated movies back then but in spite of the star cast, promotions and buzz, the movie tanked at the box office. Critics and audience didn’t like the movie.
The crime-thriller was directed and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap. It was based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book ‘Mumbai Fables’. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, the movie also starred Karan Johar, Kay Kay Menon, Manish Choudhary, Vivaan Shah and Siddhartha Basu.
