Karan Johar‘s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ has been receiving a lot of flak from a particular section of the society for featuring a Pakistani actor, Fawad Khan, in the film. The Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) yesterday announced that they would not screen movies starring Pakistani artistes in the four states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Goa.
This decision however did not go down well with a lot of industry elites. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has now come out in support of Karan Johar,
Anurag took to twitter to express his displeasure over the decision and tweeted,
The World must learn from us.. We solve all our problems by blaming it on movies and banning it.. #ADHM . With you on this @karanjohar

The decision made by the COEAI covers the single screen theatres of the four cities. ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead and will be releasing on the 28th of October.
Anurag Kashyap was not the first one to stand with Karan. Many industry people including Om Puri, Shyam Benegal, Vikram Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt and Censor Board chief Pahalaj Nihalani have slammed the decision of banning on the release of the film, and have received considerable opposition and backlash on social media for the same.
