Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal has already hit the theatres and it is wreaking havoc at the box office since its release. Animal is high in violence and action and will keep you on the edge of your seats till the climax. As much as Animal is receiving praise, it is also receiving criticism for portraying masculine toxicity and violence to another level. Speaking of which, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has come in support of Animal and has said that the Indian audience gets easily offended with movies like Animal.
Anurag Kashyap defends Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal
Due to its violent and controversial content, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has led the audience talking. Animal has also been called ‘misogynistic’ by some critics. Recently, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was in talks with News18 Showsha where he opened up about the criticism that Animal is receiving. He said, “I’m yet to watch Animal. I just returned from Marrakech. But I’m aware of the conversations happening online. Nobody has the right to tell a filmmaker what kind of films they should and shouldn’t make. People in this country get easily offended with films. They get offended with my films too. But I expect educated people to not get offended at the drop of a hat.”
Animal cast and characters
The story of Animal shows a son’s obsession with his father to be validated and to be loved. The movie portrays a troubled relationship between father and son where the son would go to any level to protect his dad. Speaking of the Animal cast and characters, Ranbir Kapoor essays the role of Anil Kapoor’s son. Rashmika Mandanna plays the role of Ranbir’s wife. Bobby Deol stole the limelight by playing the role of a menacing villain. As the movie unfolds, Ranbir Kapoor perfectly justifies the name of the movie, Animal.
As Animal is receiving immense love from the audience, it is also performing exceptionally well at the box office. Animal has already crossed Rs.356 crores at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend.
