Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli praise Ranveer Singh’s ‘superlative’ performance in 83

Actor Ranveer Singh co-star Anushka Sharma and her husband Virat Kohli recently watched Singh’s biographical film, 83. Anushka and Virat both took to their Twitter handles and dropped tweets regarding the film. Going by their tweets, the two seemed to have loved the film as they were seen heaping praises on the film. Reviewing 83, Anushka mentioned the team beautifully brought the magical moment to life while thanking the filmmaker Kabir Khan for the same. She even calls Ranveer superlative in the film.

The Zero actor tweeted, “A magical moment in India’s sporting history brought to life so beautifully by the entire team of #83TheFilm.  @kabirkhankk  thank you for letting the newer generations relive this through your film and  @RanveerOfficial, what can I say? You are just superlative in the film.” Even her hubby and Indian skipper Virat reviewed the film saying it was fantastically made while mentioning that the Padmaavat actor was at a different level altogether.

Kohli said, “Couldn’t have relived the most iconic moment of Indian cricket history in a better manner. A fantastically made movie which immerses you in the events and the emotion of the world cup in 1983. Splendid performances as well. @RanveerOfficial  was a different level altogether. Great job everyone!  @therealkapildev @kabirkhankk”

Meanwhile, Kabir Khan directorial venture collected Rs. 16 crore nett on day two, thus taking the grand total to Rs 28 crore nett, despite the theatres running in 50% occupancy.

Apart from Ranveer Singh who plays the titular role of Kapil Dev on the celluloid, it also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath. Pankaj Tripathi plays PR Man Singh, the team’s manager and Deepika Padukone as Kapil’s wife Romi Bhatia.
