Amidst the Covid crisis, Anushka Sharma and her cricketer husband Virat Kohli came forward to help the needy by raising funds and amplifying their voices. Apart from that, the power couple has helped in saving a child suffering from a rare genetic disorder known as spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The couple helped raise funds for that kid as he needed the most expensive medicine – Zolgensma worth Rs 16 crore to beat the disease.
The ailing kid Ayaansh Gupta’s parents took to social media to seek help in raising the fund to buy the expensive drug. They even created a Twitter account named ‘AyaanshFightsSMA’ to seek support from influential people. When they were finally able to raise the massive amount, Ayaansh’s parents thanking Virat and Anushka tweeted, “@imVkohli & @AnushkaSharma– we always loved you as fans. But what you have done for Ayaansh and this campaign is beyond what we expected. Thanks for your generosity. You helped us win this match of life with a six! Will always be indebted for your help to #saveayaanshgupta (sic).”

Apart from Virushka several other celebs like Dia Mirza, Arjun Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Nakuul Mehta, Sara Ali Khan also came forward to help Ayaansh’s parents. This is the best example of how are reel heroes have become the real-life heroes in the time of crisis.
