Anushka Sharma to make a comeback as Jhulan Goswami in Chakda Xpress

Anushka Sharma has been missing from the silver screen for a long time. The actress was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’ in 2018 alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Anushka Sharma is all set for a comeback and fans just can’t keep calm. Anushka Sharma will be seen in cricketer Jhulan Goswami’s biopic titled Chakda Xpress’.

Jhulan Goswami’s biopic featuring Anushka Sharma will start filming soon and will be released as a Netflix original.

Anushka Sharma shared the teaser of ‘Chakda Xpress’ where she will be seen essaying the role of former Indian cricket captain Jhulan Goswami.  She wrote, ” It is a really special film because it is essentially a story of tremendous sacrifice. Chakda Xpress is inspired by the life and times of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami and it will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket. At a time when Jhulan decided to become a cricketer and make her country proud on the global stage, it was very tough for women to even think of playing the sport. This film is a dramatic retelling of several instances that shaped her life and also women’s cricket. Jhulan’s story is truly an underdog story in the history of cricket in India and the film is our celebration of her spirit.”

Anushka Sharma was supposed to make a comeback last year with Jhulan Goswami’s biopic ‘Chakdah Xpress’. However, the film had to be shelved due to the pandemic and Anushka’s pregnancy. But she is back in action once again.
