Anushka Sharma mourns over Wendell Rodricks’ death, says, “He was one of the reasons I had the courage to move to Mumbai”

Bollywood’s ace fashion designer Wendell Rodricks has left B-Town completely shaken. He passed away at 5:45 pm on February 12 at his Goa residence. Bollywood celebrities have mourned Wendell’s loss on social media especially model and actress Anushka Sharma who had a special connection with the designer.

Anushka took to her Instagram handle to share a heartfelt note for Wendell. Mourning his death, she wrote, “Woke up in NZ to the sad news of Wendell Rodricks having passed away in his sleep. He was one of the most iconic & original designers in fashion & A champion for LGBT rights .”

She recalled that Wendell had given her an opportunity to close his fashion week show in Mumbai after spotting her in Bangalore at a fashion show and she called him gracious, kind & encouraging. Anushka said that Wendell was one of the reasons she moved to Mumbai from Bangalore to pursue modeling when she was just 18 years old. She wrote, “RIP Wendell ? My love and prayers for Jerome and the rest of his family and friends ?”

Apart from Anushka, Malaika Arora, Arjun Rampal, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sona Mohapatra and Neha Dhupia among others also mourned Wendell’s death. He was 59 at the time of death.
