It’s a wrap for Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan’s ‘Sui Dhaaga’

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma are all set to work together for the first time in Sharat Kataria’s ‘Sui Dhaaga’. Reportedly the film is based on the ‘Make in India’ campaign launched by the Indian government in 2014. Through this movie, the makers aim at promoting the country’s textile industries.

Recently the cast and crew of the film wrapped up its shoot, and an ecstatic Anushka shared the news with her fans and followers, on Twitter and wrote, “A truly special film by a truly special story-teller, #SharatKataria.. Mauji and Mamta are coming to tell their story on Sept 28 at a theatre near you.. @SuiDhaagaFilm @Varun_dvn #ShootWrap.”

Reportedly, Varun Dhawan is playing a tailor named Mauji while Anushka Sharma is playing Mamta an embroiderer. The film celebrates the spirit of self-reliance.

Produced by Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films- ‘Sui Dhaaga’ is scheduled to release on September 28 this year. Interestingly Anushka has worked with Maneesh Sharma during the initial days of her career, in ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ and ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’

‘Sui Dhaaga’ will clash with filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Pataakha’, which features ‘Dangal’ fame actress Sanya Malhotra, television actress Radhika Madan and comedian Sunil Grover.
