Bollywood celebrities are always under the spotlight and they never miss making headlines for their lifestyle choices and the ensembles that they carry. Last year, AR Rahman’s daughter, Khatija was seen carrying a burqa on stage, while she was speaking to her father among the audience. The star kid was in the headlines, as few had criticized her over her burqa. The later all over again breaks her silence on the same thing, this time slamming Taslima Nasreen.
Recently, Rahman’s daughter, Khatija shared a post on her social media handle, where she hit back at the women who questioned her on the way of her dressing. It all started with an activist-writer, Taslima Nasreen’s post (which criticizes Khatija’s way of carrying the burqa. She said, “even educated women in a cultural family can get brainwashed very easily.” Here, check out the activist’s post, which once again ignites the debate of feminism.
I absolutely love A R Rahman’s music. But whenever i see his dear daughter, i feel suffocated. It is really depressing to learn that even educated women in a cultural family can get brainwashed very easily! pic.twitter.com/73WoX0Q0n9

Giving a befitting reply to her, Khatija too shared a post and wrote a cryptic note on her handle. Se wrote, “Been only a year and this topic is in the rounds again..there’s so much happening in the country and all people are concerned about is the piece of attire a woman wants to wear. Wow, I’m quite startled. Every time this topic comes to the fire in me rages and makes me want to say a lot of things.” Take a look at her post here.

Although Khatija is not too active on her social media handles, she keeps sharing pictures of herself, where she can be seen having a fun time with her best friends. A similar kind of controversy headlined a few months back as well, when as she was seen posing for pictures wearing the burqa. The Oscar-winning musician was attacked by the trolls as his daughter carries traditional outfits.
Well, what can one say! It’s her personal choice, and we all must respect that.
