Arbaaz Khan: I probably didn’t have it in me to be a successful actor

His elder brother Salman Khan is one of the greatest superstars Bollywood has ever had. However, when it comes to Arbaaz Khan’s own career, acting did not hit off well. In fact Arbaaz’s wife Malaika Arora Khan, with whom he is now on a procedure of separation, is also a successful model-dancer-celebrity judge. People have often drawn comparison between the two and their professional achievements, sometimes quite blatantly. While he continues to grab the acting opportunities, Arbaaz has primarily taken to production as his profession. He recently opened up to a leading daily on the same.

“As an actor, I got work, but it never propelled me to stardom. I probably didn’t have it in me to be a successful actor. But as producer, I could take charge of myself and my career. Acting will always remain my first love. Producing and directing take time and I can’t sit idle for two-three years. I have got a home and office to run and also maintain a certain kind of lifestyle,” he says.

Arbaaz has produced Salman’s superhit flick ‘Dabangg’ which is the pioneer of 100-crore club in Bollywood, among couple of other films. He also donned the director’s hat for ‘Dabangg 2’. Acting wise, he will next be seen in ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’ which hits the screens in March.
