In November, actor Arjun Kapoor dropped a statement, refuting the false pregnancy reports about Malaika Arora. He called out a publication for sharing false news without even checking the facts. However, Arjun Kapoor finally reacted to the pregnancy rumours during an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble.
Arjun Kapoor on pregnancy rumours:
“Negativity is easier to do. I think it gets people to pay attention because that’s been building for a while. Listen, we are actors, our personal life is not always very private. There is a certain amount that exists and you have to be okay with it already joining the profession. There might be that element that remains but I think we rely on you all to reach the audience. We need you all to be at least cognizant of the fact that we are human beings. So, check with us once in a while if you’re going to write something that is very very important. At least do that much and I think that was all that I did. It was more about that it should be checked; it should not be assumed,” Arjun Kapoor told Bollywood Bubble.

“You should not put something that can be life-altering out there,” he continued. “
I think it was handled at that point in time, I put it out, it was handled, it was taken off. There was a realisation of an error but I did that because I emotionally felt like I trust all of you. I’ve never hidden, I’ve never held back. If we maintain that equation and the decency, you should maintain that for us with our audience. Why do you want to put something that is not the truth and then I have to keep justifying myself? I think that’s just a fair bargain that we have in the process because information for any journalist has to be verified. It should not be just put out casually and especially when it comes to your personal life. I think the casualness is what put me in that situation,” Arjun said.

Arjun continued, “At the same time, I said we all learn. I’m hoping that perhaps this is a stepping stone to a better conversation for me with all of you. To make sure that these things don’t happen because I’ve never hidden. What you’re talking about is negativity is easier for people to write jokes about films and humour them. Then make it more fun because it’s for people, it’s become pop culture, and it’s become fun. I’ve seen big news channels, they have reviews that are more about playing to the plane to the gallery and making it funny and comedy and people apparently enjoy it.”

The Kuttey actor added, “So, the craft is secondary. It’s about what jokes you can find within a review to make entertain people and all that. So, I guess the unfortunate part is that you guys have to stop doing so much negative projection and that onus lies on you all. We are doing our work, we are not rejecting the negativity, we are not talking negatively about it. We’re not conducting ourselves badly, we keep our sanity and our dignity. It’s on you all, the onus is on the media, they have to change the way the audience is. You guys have created the negativity by selling it so much. But it doesn’t exist to that degree because it sells you all easily.
“You get more views, you get more clicks so the onus is now on you all to change that culture. It’s very easy to sit here and ask us how we are feeling about it. We feel you guys have started it you guys only have to end it. We just make films.”
Kapoor concluded his statement by saying they’re here to do their jobs. So, the media should not have fun at others’ expense or make it personal.
