Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan‘s upcoming film ‘Ki & Ka’ directed by R Balki is in news for various reasons. Firstly, the story of the film seems very interesting. The film is set to challenge the gender roles enforced by the society on a man and a woman. Secondly, the promotions of the film are good enough to create the buzz around the film. To add to this, the Censor Board has now given a clean chit to the film without any cuts.
When the trailer of the film made it to the internet, the gossip mills went abuzz about the intimate scenes shared by Arjun and Kareena. Many people questioned Kareena with regards to her ‘no-kissing-policy’ with hubby Saif Ali Khan. Plus, the censor board is also known for strictly scrutinizing the intimate scenes in any film, be it Bollywood or Hollywood (remember the cuts in Spectre?). So we were a little skeptical with the scenes in ‘Ki & Ka’. Fortunately, the censor board has not brought about any change in the film except for two words being replaced. ‘Ki & Ka’ has been given U/A certificate without any cut in the film.
CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani was quoted saying, “Arjun and Kareena play a married couple, a husband and wife. It’s normal to show some intimacy in a marriage. R Balki has handled these scenes beautifully. The kissing scenes have been shot naturally, without any fuss. It would have been unjust to cut any of these aesthetically done moments of intimacy.”
With this, cheers to the team of ‘Ki & Ka’.
The film is set to hit the theatres on April 1, 2016.
