‘Panipat’ Trailer: This Sanjay Dutt-Arjun Kapoor starrer will give you ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ vibes

Three years after his last film ‘Mohenjo Daro’, filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker is back with yet another period drama ‘Panipat‘. Starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in the lead role, the film is based on the third battle of Panipat. After a long time, Gowariker is offering a period-drama, so obviously the excitement level amongst the cinephiles is already high.

The trailer of the historical-drama ‘Panipat’ is finally out. But unfortunately, it failed to live up to our expectations.

In the film, Sanjay is playing Ahmad Shah Abdali, whereas Arjun will portray the role of Sadashiv Rao Bhau. Kriti will be seen essaying the role of queen Parvati Bai.

The trailer of ‘Panipat’ gives you ‘Jodhaa Akbar‘ vibes. The action sequences, costume and set designs in ‘Panipat’ are all quite similar to what we saw in Gowariker’s acclaimed film ‘Jodhaa Akabar’.

Sanjay is looking ferocious as antagonist Ahmad, whereas Arjun too is looking very different in his bald avatar. Kriti is a breath of fresh air. However, in some scenes, Sanjay resembles Alauddin Khilji (played by Ranveer Singh) from ‘Padmaavat’.

Unfortunately, the trailer despite being 3:14 minutes long fails to offer anything novel. We have already seen several historical battle dramas. And this film seems to be one of them.

Also starring Padmini Kolhapure, Zeenat Aman and Mohnish Bahl in a pivotal role, ‘Panipat’ is scheduled to release on December 6, 2019.
