After ‘2 States‘, actor Arjun Kapoor has been roped in for yet another film based on a novel by Chetan Bhagat. ‘Half Girlfriend’, which stars Arjun along with Shraddha Kapoor, is all set to go on the floors this May and will release on April 28, 2017. Arjun, in the film, will be playing a Bihari guy’s character and is gearing up to learn Bhojpuri!
Earlier when asked about the film, the ‘Ishaqzaade’ actor had revealed that he hadn’t read ‘Half Girlfriend’.
“I didn’t read 2 States and Chetan Bhagat knows that. I didn’t read because my director was very clear and he said that I don’t want you to read the book and get bogged down and get confused between the script and the book. That is because I read the script first. I did the same thing with ‘Half Girlfriend’” he said.
“I have never done a film where there is a rise and fall in love. If anybody has read the book, then they must be aware of the journey of Madhav Jha. In the film, there is a time lapse of about seven to eight years between the beginning and end of the film,” he added.
Looks like Arjun is pretty much into the character already! Here’s wishing him all the luck. At present, promotions of R Balki’s ‘Ki & Ka’ are keeping him busy. ‘Ki & Ka’ is set to hit the theatres on April 1.
