We are all looking forward to ‘Kabir Singh’s release next week. The film, which sees Shahid play an alcoholic surgeon, is a remake of Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy’. Now, Vijay Deverakonda (who acted in the Telugu version) has opened up about the remake.
In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, he said, “I did what I had to in ‘Arjun Reddy’. I am sure Shahid has done something exceptional in ‘Kabir Singh’. Shahid is an actor whose work I’ve liked ever since I saw him in ‘Ishq Vishq’.”
“I want Kabir Singh to be a massive blockbuster,” he added.
On his part, Shahid has tried to do something different with the character. In an interview with Mid-Day, he said, “We have tried to do something different because it’s important to rediscover the journey of the character. We shifted the milieu to Delhi and Mumbai; so, by extension, his family and upbringing has changed. But we have retained the fundamental energy of the character.”
Going by the trailer, Shahid seems to have totally immersed himself in the character. We wish him all the best for the movie.
