Arshad Warsi breaks silence on being trolled for calling Prabhas ‘joker’; says, “I spoke about the character and not the person”

Actor Arshad Warsi was heavily criticised when he said Prabhas looked like a joker in Kalki 2898 AD. After which, the fans slammed him left right and centre. The entire scene was blown out of proportion. Now, at the IIFA Awards 2024, Arshad clarified his statement saying that he didn’t speak about the person but about the character. He praised Prabhas calling him a brilliant actor but was heartbroken as a bad character was given to a good actor.

Warsi said, “That’s taken in the wrong sense. Everything has a point of view and people like to make noise. I spoke about the character and not the person. He is a brilliant actor and he has proven himself over and over again, we know about it. But when we give a bad character to a good actor, it’s heartbreaking for the audience.“

Last month, while speaking with Samdish Bhatia on his podcast, the Munna Bhai actor said Kalki 2898 AD was a bad film. Arshad had said, “Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he… he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata. (What have you made of it? Why do they do such things I never understand).”

It is coming out in April. When asked how was the working experience with Akshay Kumar. Arshad said, “He is lovely yaar. I love him because he is a very together person. He likes the whole unit to be together; he’s a very giving actor. He’s too interested in working and he loves his job and he just wants to do it more and more.“
