Considering it’s budget, ‘Article 15’ has taken a decent opening at the box office. It had to face tough competition from last week’s ‘Kabir Singh’ which is still rocking at the ticket windows.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures of Day 1:
#Article15 has a decent Day 1… Gathered speed towards evening shows, after a dull start in the morning… Should witness an upward trend/substantial growth on Day 2… Metros are driving the biz and high-end multiplexes will contribute largely… Fri ₹ 5.02 cr. India biz.

In my review of the film, I wrote, “As metropolitans living in comfortable homes and working in cozy offices, we often forget that the majority of India is still living under the dark shadow of its past. Caste system rears its ugly head in many places and it’s a menace that needs to wiped off. ‘Article 15’ is an important film because it showcases this.”
Elsewhere too, ‘Article 15’ received great reviews.
Ayushmann fans need not worry. The actor is known for churning money spinners despite low openings. Can you imagine? ‘AndhaDhun’ got an opening of just Rs. 2.70 crores.
Let’s wait and watch what happens.
