Asha Bhosle has ‘broken down’ after Lata Mangeshkar’s death, reveals Padmini Kolhapure

The legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar will always be one of the most celebrated singers. She passed away on February 6, leaving behind a huge void. Now, Lata Ji’s great-niece and actress Padmini Kolhapure revealed how Asha Bhosle is coping with the loss of her sister’s unfortunate demise.

Talking to Pinkvilla, Padmini stated: “She is broken down.”

Further, the actress also revealed being in awe of her great-aunt. She said: “I remember once we were at a wedding and I was so much in awe of her that I kept looking at her. In fact, even the dresses that Shivangi (sister) and I are wearing at that function were gifted by her. It was a long dress which back then was called a maxi. We used to go for recordings with her but you know as a kid you don’t understand the power of that person. For me she was my atya. We often visited each others’ house and joked around with her. Those were beautiful days.”

Padmini revealed that her family has a strong pillar of support. “As much as death is the hardest truth or fact, we really felt that nothing is going to happen to her and she is always going to be with us. We are all shaken. But I am sure her songs and memories are going to live on for generations and generations to come.”

Meanwhile, Padmini Kolhapure also paid a heartfelt tribute to Lata Mangeshkar on social media. She shared throwback pictures and captioned it as: “WO DIN AB NAA RAHEIN ! Blessed to be part of your life ? Will miss you Didi Atya. i love you ❤️❤️❤️?”
