Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s biopic on IT couple NR Narayana and Sudha Murthy finally gets a title

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is helming a biopic on IT couple NR Narayana and Sudha Murthy. The movie is titled ‘Murthy’. Ashwiny took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture of herself with Sudha Murthy.

The ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ director addressed Sudha Murthy as ‘Sudha Maa’ and wrote, “Two opposite personalities. I don’t have a picture with Mr Narayan Murthy. But spent hours chatting with Sudha Maa – that’s what i call her now.”

In the post, Ashwiny also wrote that she left advertising in 2015 only for the passion of telling stories. Talking about the Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy and his wife Sudha Murthy, Ashwiny wrote, “Their honest life with integrity is my biggest inspiration. I am filled with humble gratitude to make Murthy. They have trusted me with their iconic story and i can only pray that I keep up to their expectations. This is more than a film.This is life.”

For the unversed, NR Narayana Murthy and his wife Sudha Murthy, are known as Indian IT’s first couple. The former was employed with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad and Patni Computer Systems in Pune. He started Infosys in 1981 and served as the CEO from 1981 to 2002 and later the chairman till 2011. Sudha Murthy was the first female engineer to be hired by the automotive manufacturing company TELCO in Pune.

Ashwiny had earlier directed two movies-‘Nil Battey Sannata’ and ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’. She is currently gearing up for her upcoming release ‘Panga’ which is a sports drama.
