Actor Asif Basra found dead in a private complex in Dharamshala

The year 2020 seems to be a very tragic one for the entertainment world. After Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput, the film industry has lost one more talented actor. Actor Asif Basra was found hanging in a private complex in Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh. Reportedly he died by suicide. He was 53.

According to an ANI report, forensic team has reached the private complex and police is investigating the death case of Asif. SSP Kangra Vimukt Ranjan of Himachal Pradesh told ANI, “Film actor Asif Basra was found hanging in a private complex in Dharamshala. Forensic team is at the spot and police is investigating the matter.”

While more details on Asif’s death is yet to be known, it is suspected that he committed suicide. According to a report in News18 Hindi, Asif was living with a UK woman in a live-in relationship in his rented apartment. Reportedly, he hung himself using his dog’s belt. The same report also states that apparently, Asif was depressed.

Asif had worked in several popular films like ‘Kai Po Che’, ‘Black Friday’, ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’, ‘Krrish 3’, and ‘Hichki’, to name a few.
