Ayan reveals why he named Ranbir and Alia’s film ‘Brahmastra’

The film that we knew to be ‘Dragon’, has now been titled ‘Brahmastra’. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, it is being helmed by Ayan Mukerji. It is one dream project of his and he is extremely excited about it. Adding on to it, Amitabh Bachchan has also given his positive nod to be featured in this film. We are vaguely aware of the theme of the film that it is going to be a fantasy drama with superheroes taking the lead. But one wonders why the title ‘Brahmastra’.

Ayan Mukerji quips, “It is set in India as it exists today but the name of the film is called ‘Brahmastra’ because the energy, wisdom and powers in the film come from ancient India.” He further states, “I will not be able to give information right now but all I can say is, this film is a modern day film.”

He also spoke about the costumes and said, “As far as costumes are concerned, there are some which may not be the way you would expect them to be”.

With Big B being a part of the film, Ayan said, “Ever since this film was conceptualised, I wanted to approach him for the film and make this film with him. So I am very happy that he is part of team ‘Brahmastra’.”
