A few months ago on the new year’s eve, a horrific incident of mass molestation took place in Bengaluru. While the entire country was enraged and ashamed, politician Abu Azmi, who also happens to be the father-in-law of actress Ayesha Takia, found it the women’s fault. To his opinion, it was the ‘western’ culture and short-length dresses that provoked men.
Just a couple of months, and the man strikes again! This time, his target is director-producer Karan Johar. KJo, who became father to twins Yash and Roohi through surrogacy, was flooded with love and blessings from colleagues, friends, fans and who not?
However, at a recent event, when asked about it, Azmi was at his mean best and indirectly mocked Karan on his choice of his fatherhood. (Also Read:Â Karan Johar about nepotism: Am I working with my nieces, nephews, daughters, cousins?)
“Itne bade ho gaye, shaadi nahin kar sakte? Koi beemari hai toh adopt kar lo. Surrogacy ka kya naatak hai yeh? ( He is so old, why couldn’t he get married? If he suffers from any ailment, he could adopt a child. What is this fuss about surrogacy all about?)”, he said.
This was not just a taunt on Karan’s choice to opt for surrogacy, but also an indirect dig at his sexuality.
Parenthood is a choice that people make. Biological or non-biological, it is the same emotional affair for everyone. Birth of new lives rarely fails to cheer someone. You’ve to be mean enough for that, and Mr Azmi has taken the meanness to another level altogether!
