IMDb names ‘Article 15’ ‘breakout film’; Ayushmann Khurrana says it ‘hit him hard emotionally’

Ayushmann Khurrana who was last seen in the cop drama-‘Article 15’ is back again hitting the headlines. The movie has now been tagged as one of the breakout films on IMDb. Talking about the great response that the film has received, Ayushmann calls the film an eye-opener and says that the plot of the film has hit him hard emotionally.

As per a recent report in IANS, Ayushmann Khurrana told the news agency, “I played a police officer for the first time in my career. The story hit me hard emotionally and it was an eye-opener because we live in a protected world where such incidents are reported and watched on news channels and read in newspapers, but still fail to drive any action or debate.”

Anubhav Sinha’s directorial, ‘Article 15’ is about the law which prohibits the discrimination on the grounds of religion, race, caste, sex, and birthplace.

Talking about the great response that the film has received so far, Ayushmann said, “We as a society, see what is happening around us but we choose to ignore the truth and opt to live in our convenient urban bubbles. I am content to see the film being the breakout title of the month on IMDb, as my aim was to leave an impact on the audience through the story and start a conversation on this.”
