EXCLUSIVE: Ayushmann Khurrana recalls being told not to be a part of Dream Girl

Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood. He is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, Dream Girl 2 with co-star Ananya Panday. As many are aware, Ayushmann and Ananya starrer is a sequel to Dream Girl which released in 2019. The first part was a massive hit. It is one of the most successful films of Ayushmann.

Now, ahead of the sequel’s release, Ayushmann sat down for an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble. During the candid conversation, Ayushmann opened up about Dream Girl and looked back at the time when people told him not to be a part of the film.

The actor told us, “There’s always been naysayers when it came to my choices in films because they were very unconventional and they were out of the rule book of commercial Bollywood film. So, there were always naysayers and these challenges they excite me as an actor. You have to question something or maybe try something new.”

Ayushmann further called Pooja the ‘most challenging role’ of his career.

On the other hand, when asked who he thinks would look better when cross-dressed, Ayushmann agreed to Ananya Panday who picked Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff.

Coming back to Dream Girl 2, Ayushmann is back to win hearts as Pooja. Apart from him and Ananya, the upcoming sequel also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Abhishek Banerjee, Annu Kapoor, Seema Pahwa, Vijay Raaz, Manjot Singh, and Manoj Joshi. Raaj Shaandilyaa has directed the sequel. On the other hand, Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor are producing it. Dream Girl 2 will release on 25^th August, 2023.
