After impressing the masses once more as Tara Singh in Gadar 2, Sunny Deol recently took to social media and announced that the sequel to his 1997 hit film Border is in the making. Titled Border 2, the film has been in the news owing to Ayushmann Khurrana and Diljit Dosanjh being considered for roles in it. However, a new report states that the ‘Vicky Donor’ actor has rejected the film.
Ayushmann Khurrana rejects Sunny Deol starrer Border 2?
As per a recent Mid-Day report, Ayushmann Khurrana has let go of Border 2 after months-long talks. A source in the know told the publication, “Ayushmann was in talks to play a soldier in the sequel. While both Ayushmann and the makers were keen on collaborating, the actor felt unsure of his positioning in an ensemble led by Sunny Deol, a towering star in his own right.”
Talking about the reports suggesting singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh is part of the war drama, the source said, “Nothing is confirmed yet. But Diljit has been approached by the makers. It will be a treat to see Diljit and Sunny together on screen, given their strong audience base in north India.”

Ont he 27th anniversary of JP Dutta’s cult classic Border, Sunny Deol announced the film’s sequel, Border 2. Taking to Instagram, Sunny dropped an announcement video, in which he said, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, Hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai.” Sharing the video, he wrote, “Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse.
Touted as India’s biggest war film, Border 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. The film – which is being directed by Anurag Singh, is expected to go on floors by November.
