Bollywood films often get into controversies and nobody knows the reason. Hindi films sometimes face the flak from fringe groups, communities, political parties and it is a never-ending saga. Now, Ayushmann Khurrana‘s ‘Article 15’ has found itself in trouble. Yes, you have read it absolutely right!
‘Article 15’ is somewhat based on Badaun murder and rape case. It has upset the sentiments of a Brahmin community of Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, the Brahmin community is not happy with how they are being portrayed in this film.
As per a report in SpotboyE, “If the film is based on the Badaun incident, where was the need to turn the accused into Brahmins? It is obvious that the intention is to malign the Brahmin community. We have started creating awareness about the issue and we will not allow the film to release here,” says Kushal Tiwari, a young student leader who is a member of the Parshuram Sena (a Brahmin outfit).

The student leader further added, “We are launching a campaign on social media and we have also been trying to contact the film director Anubhav Sinha but he has not been taking our calls.”
‘Article 15’ is a very sensitive film and its trailer is depicting caste conflict and polarisation politics. ‘Article 15’ is being directed by Anubhav Sinha and will be releasing on June 28, 2019.
