Ayushmann Khurrana made his Bollywood debut with the film called ‘Vicky Donor’ wherein he had essayed the role of a sperm donor. Directed by Shoojit Sircar ‘Vicky Donor’ received accolades from all corners for its bold subject, but it was Ayushmann’s innocence that took away the cake. Well, ironically, his next film ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ deals with the problem of erectile dysfunction in men. So from being a sperm donor to being someone with erectile dysfunction, indeed Ayushmann has come a long way in the industry or in his words, his life has come a full circle.
In his recent interview with a news agency, the handsome actor said, “It was very ironical when I got to know the subject, I felt life has come a full circle from a sperm donor to erectile dysfunction. This kind of film is required in today’s day and age. People are patriarchal, they don’t talk about problems and it’s sad.”
“We can’t brush this problem under the carpet, we have to open up and talk about it,” he added further. We just hope his film manages to bring about some openness in the society over this issue. (Also Read: Ayushmann Khurrana: I am a ‘trained’ singer because I have sung in a ‘train’)
Directed by RS Prasanna, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ stars Bhumi Pednekar as the female lead opposite Ayushmann. It is for the second time we would see them together on the big screen after ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’. Talking about the same, the actor has said, “It’s great to be working with someone who is a friend, but you have to be good actors as well. I am glad people like our pairing onscreen.”
