Several Bollywood celebs like Priyanka Chopra, Ajay Devgn and Swara Bhasker have come together to laud the efforts of 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg in raising awareness about the gravity of climate change.

Greta’s viral speech at the UN climate summit on Monday has taken the world by storm as she painfully explains how the world leaders are betraying her generation by turning a blind eye to the gravity of climate change issue.

Lauding Greta’s moving speech, our B-town celebs took to their social media handles to share their views.

Priyanka Chopra, taking to her Twitter handle wrote, “Thank you @gretathunberg for giving us the much-needed punch in the face, for bringing your generation together and showing us that we need to know better, do more to save what is most critical. Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar said he is feeling helpless and shameful. “I wish Mahatma Gandhi or Swami Vivekananda were alive to hear your appeal.. Then a U-turn was possible for climate change. We are committing sin and we will suffer.. Myself feeling helpless and shameful(sic),” he wrote.

Several Hollywood celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio, Chris Hemsworth and Joe Jonas too have come forward to praise Greta’s effort and help her reach out to a wider audience.

16-year-old Greta is a climate activist with Asperger’s. Her words will hit you directly and we hope that the world leaders realise that more than a growing economy, safeguarding the eco-system of the earth should be their priority.
