After ‘Baahubali: The Beginning‘ that released on July 10, 2015, went on to be the biggest blockbuster of the year, now ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, SS Rajamouli’s directorial, is all set to be grander than the prequel. The movie that won awards for its sets, storyline and action had earned around 600 crores at the box-office. Fans all over the world were quite excitedly awaiting the release of the sequel to ‘Baahubali’.
Apparently, rumours are abounding that the sequel, ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ is all set to break the records of Rajinikanth starrer ‘Kabali’ much before its release. No sooner than the makers announce the release date of the much-awaited flick that is set to hit theaters on 28th April 2017, the fans of Baahubali started the countdown on social media.
Sources said, “Director SS Rajamouli is now shooting the climax of the film, which should be wrapped up by 31 August. In October, he will complete some crucial linking scenes and then do two songs and by November-end, the entire shoot will be over. The VFX and editing work is going on simultaneously. The first look posters will come out by November. We are gearing up for a release in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi on 28 April 2017, in time for the long May Day weekend.”
The promotional team is all set to follow the path set up by Team ‘Kabali’ and are all set to encash on the pre-release excitement of the fans. In Kerela, the movie’s theatrical rights were bought at about 10.50 crore approx. The TN theatrical rights were sold for Rs 45 crore. Apparently, the Andhra and Telangana rights might collect around a Rs 100 crore collectively. The Karnataka rights have as yet not been sold but there are high expectations from the Hindi theatrical rights that might get sold at Rs 120 crore. Looking at these figures ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ is expected to collect around Rs. 300 crores on the domestic front. On the international level, the overseas rights have been sold for Rs. 52 crore.
Looks like ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ is all set to break the pre-release deal record of Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ as the sale of merchandise and brand associations deals are still to be added.
