Babil Khan on carrying his late father Irrfan Khan’s legacy forward: The pressure motivates me

Late actor Irrfan Khan’s son, Babil Khan will be making his acting debut with Netflix’s upcoming film, Qala. Babil is beyond excited. Qala trailer was recently released and it received a great response. Babil has managed to impress with his terrific act. Babil is following the footsteps of his late father. And at the trailer launch event, Babil opened up about the pressure of taking his late father Irrfan’s legacy forward.

While addressing the media, Babil said, “Yes, there is a lot of pressure. When we were shooting for the film two years ago the pressure would scare me. Now, the pressure doesn’t scare me, but motivates me to go out there and work. The definition of pressure has changed.”

When asked about the qualities of his father he would like to imbibe, Babil said, “Whatever qualities my father had he took it with him. Now, I will explore my qualities.”

Babil shared a great bond with his father-actor Irrfan Khan. Irrfan made his film debut with a small role in Salaam Bombay. He acted in films such as Paan Singh Tomar, Talvar, Piku, The Lunchbox, Haider and Gunday among others.

Talking about Qala, it also stars Tripti Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee, Avinash Raj Sharma, Ashish Singh and Neer Raao. Qala is set in the 1930s and late 1940. It will be released on Netflix on December 1, 2022. Reacting to the trailer, one commented on Babil’s post, “This looks wow.” Another one commented, “Superb.” “(heart emojis) now win the hearts,” wrote a fan.
