Effortless comic timing and chemistry

The spectacular cast of Bad Newz includes Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk. Well, the trio is here to rule the hearts and their camaraderie amid the chaos and fun banter in the trailer proves it. Ever since the poster released, all we knew that the comedy-drama will be a fun ride and rib-tickling scenes and impeccable comic timings of the cast added to the fun quotient.

Concept

Bad Newz revolves around a woman who gets pregnant with twins but with two different fathers. Based on true events, Triptii Dimri’s character is diagnosed with a rare medical condition called heteropaternal superfecundation leading to the comically chaotic situation.

Katrina Kaif’s mention

Ever since the trailer released, another highlight has to be Katrina’s mention and ‘biba’ munda blushing looking at the poster of his darling wife. In yet another hilarious stint, Vicky takes care of Triptii and stick posters of Tiger Shroff and Katrina Kaif. Irked by it, Ammy tries to remove the poster. When it comes to Katrina, Vicky mentions, “Ye nahi, iske liye meri laash par se guzarna hoga’.

Meta jokes

Apart from Katrina’s mention, the trailer has also given references to some of the characters in Bollywood who sacrificed their love. Vicky and Ammy are competing to be the best father and supportive husband for Triptii. During the face-off for the same, Ammy mentions how he is not a Ranbir Kapoor from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Reacting to it Vicky refers to Rajkummar Rao from Bareily Ki Barfi after which Ammy talks about not being Vicky Kaushal from Manmarziyaan. Replying to which Vicky says, “Don’t get personal” which gets us ROFL.

Recreation of Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam

Dharma productions is known to recreate some old melodies beautifully which not only gets us nostalgic but again makes it to our playlist for being soulful. After What Jhumka in RRKPK and Dekhha Tenu in Mr & Mrs Mahi, he is here with Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam from Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla’s Duplicate which weaves well to the narrative.

Bad Newz looks like a blend of love, comedy, and emotion, promising a comedic spectacle. Directed by Anand Tiwari, it is all set to release in theatres on 19 Kuly, 2024. The film is a sequel to Good Newwz, which featured Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh.
