Badshah and Yo Yo Honey Singh have been two big names in the rap scenes from the very beginning. I remember them from the Bluetooth Era’ when I used to wait for my friends to download their songs and send them to me. They were part of a rappers group called Mafia Mundeer. But, Alas! It split in 2012. This went on to lead towards a tiff between Badshah and Yo Yo Honey Singh. In a recent podcast, Badhshah opened up about what when down between the two.
Badshah reveals what went down between him and Yo Yo Honey Singh
Before I go ahead, let me tell you know about the Mafia Mundeer. It was a group of rappers thriving to make the Indian rap scene visible to the world. It included Yo Yo Honey Singh, Badshah, Raftaar, Ikka and Lil Golu. Badshah revealed in the Podcast that when the group initially started it was just the two of them. The Garmi rapper was associated with the team from 2006 and he expressed that he was scared as Honey was focused on his own career and further went on to dodge his calls. It was mostly like Honey was trying to ghost Badshah.
Badshah further went on to reveal that Honey and he made quite a lot of songs together but they were never released. The only reason was that the Paani Paani singer was focused on his own career. Later in 2011, his first song with Yo Yo Honey Singh titled Get Up Jawani was released.
Expressing his thoughts, Badshah said that Honey used to call all of the rappers his brother but never succeed in acknowledging their feelings or struggles. He also opened up about how he was being made signed blank papers of contracts, though they were never put to use.
Talking about the Badshah’s fame now, I believe he needs no introduction. He has made a name for himself over the years. From DJ Wale Babu to Kar Gayi Chull, we love his rap! Especially, when he says “It’s your boy, Badshah.”
