Bandra court orders police to register FIR against Kangana Ranaut and Rangoli Chandel for allegedly spreading communal hatred

Kangana Ranaut and her manager-sister Rangoli Chandel are quite vocal about their political views. Both of them never leave a chance of expressing their views on anything and everything under the sun. But looks like their social media posts have landed them in legal trouble.

Bandra Magistrate Metropolitan Court has ordered registration of police complaint against Kangana and Rangoli based on a complaint that they tried to create a divide between communities with their social media posts.

According to PTI report, the complaint against the Ranaut sisters was filed by the casting director and fitness trainer Munnawarali Sayyed. The complainant wants the Ranaut sisters to be booked under sections 153A, 295A, 124 read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The petitioner had also said that Kangana is a well-known actress and she has a huge following on social media. He accused her of ‘creating divisions between Hindu artists and Muslim artists,” and that she “is maliciously bringing religion into almost all her tweets.’ The complaint further reads, “Her sister, too, has made objectionable comments on social media to spread communal tension between two religious groups.” 

Sayyed has also said that Kangana’s comparison of Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir was inciting. He now wants the real motives behind these tweets to be investigated.

Giving its order metropolitan magistrate Jaydeo Khule said, “On prima facie perusal of complaint and submissions… I found the cognizable offence has been committed by the accused. Total allegations are based upon comment on electronic media — Twitter and interviews. The accused used social media like Twitter. The thorough investigation is necessary by the expert… search and seizure are necessary in this case.”

Interestingly, Kangana reacting on this latest case being filed against her posted, “Who all are fasting on Navratris? Pictures clicked from today’s celebrations as I am also fasting, meanwhile, another FIR filed against me, Pappu sena in Maharashtra seems to be obsessing over me, don’t miss me so much I will be there soon#Navratri(sic).”

Kangana is already entangled in a legal battle with Maharashtra government as they partially demolished her Mumbai office. Apart from the Karnataka police has also filed a case against the ‘Manikarnika’ actress over her tweet on farmer’s protest against the Farmers Bills.
