The legendary Indian singer-composer Bappi Lahiri breathed his last on Tuesday night, February 15, 2022, at the CritiCare Hospital in Juhu at the age of 69. He passed away due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) His sad demise has left the entire entertainment world in grief. Apart from his musical stint, did you know that Bappi Lahiri also ventured into acting? Yes, you read that right!
Bappi Lahiri made his debut in acting with uncle Kishore Kumar’s 1974 film Badhti Ka Naam Dadhi. The movie was also produced and directed by Kumar. Apart from him, the film also featured Kishore Kumar’s two brothers, Anoop Kumar and Ashok Kumar.
Bappi Lahiri had shared the priceless image on Instagram, last year, which looks like a still from his film, in which, he essayed the role Bhopu. Sharing the photo, he captioned it as: “A Film that I debuted as an actor..⭐️Directed and Produced by #kishorekumar along with Amit Kumar !! Name the film ?? ? ?” In the picture, Bappi da was seen posing with Kishore and Amit.

Bappi Da, as he was known fondly, will be cremated tomorrow after the arrival of son Bappa from USA. A statement from his family reads: “It’s a deeply sad moment for us. Our beloved Bappi Da has left for heavenly abode last midnight. The cremation will take on arrival of Bappa From LA tomorrow mid-morning. We are seeking love and blessings for his soul.”

He is survived by wife Chitrani Lahiri, daughter Rema Lahiri and son Bappa Lahiri.
