Bappi Lahiri, who has been known as the Disco King of Bollywood, left for his heavenly abode on Tuesday night. He was 69. His sad demise has left the entire entertainment world in grief. The renowned music composer had breathed his last at Mumbai’s CritiCare hospital.
In a conversation with ANI, Bappi Da’s doctor revealed the reason of the disco king’s death. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) Dr Deepak Namjoshi, director of the hospital said: “Bappi Lahiri was suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea & recurrent chest infection. He was hospitalised in Criticare Hospital, Juhu for 29 days with this. He recovered well & was discharged home on Feb 15. However, after a day at home, his health again deteriorated & he was brought back to Criticare hospital in a critical state & succumbed to his illness at about 11.45 pm. He suffered from Covid infection last year. He had OSA for the last 1 year.”

His family also issued an official statement and said that his last rites will be performed tomorrow, i.e, February 16 after the arrival of his son Bappa from the United States tomorrow: “It’s a deeply sad moment for us. Our beloved Bappi Da has left for heavenly abode last midnight. The cremation will take on arrival of Bappa From LA tomorrow mid morning , We are seeking love and blessings for his soul.”
Social media is abuzz with tweets mourning the loss of the disco king of the nation. From Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, Sidharth Malhotra, Neena Gupta, to Bhumi Pednekar, all celebs from Bollywood are mourning the loss of the legend.
He has been survived by his wife Chitrani and two children Bappa and Rema.
