The nation lost another singing gem as Bappi Lahiri passed away. The singer was 69 years old and breathed his last on Tuesday night. As per reports, the music composer breathed his last in Mumbai’s CritiCare hospital. Reports further state that the last rites of Bappi Lahiri will take place on Thursday. He is survived by two children – a son, Bappa Lahiri, and a daughter, Rema Lahiri.
Since the singer’s son is in the USA, the family will wait for him to return. He will perform Bappi Lahiri’s last rites. Bappa is married to Taneesha Lahiri who is the daughter of action director Mahendra Verma.

Lahiri’s family issued a statement after the singer passed away, “It’s a deeply sad moment for us Our beloved Bappi Da has left for heavenly abode last midnight. The cremation will take on arrival of Bappa From LA tomorrow mid morning ,We are seeking love and blessings for his soul. We will keep you updated.”

As per the Doctor’s statement which was shared by ANI, Bappi suffered Obstructive sleep apnea, “Bappi Lahiri was suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea & recurrent chest infection. He was hospitalised in Criticare Hospital, Juhu for 29 days with this. He recovered well & was discharged home on Feb 15: His doctor Dr Deepak Namjoshi. However, after a day at home, his health again deteriorated & he was brought back to Criticare hospital in a critical state & succumbed to his illness at about 11.45 pm. He suffered from Covid infection last year. He had OSA for the last 1 year: Dr Deepak Namjoshi.”
