The first half of John Abraham and Mrunal Thakur’s ‘Batla House’ fails to keep you on the edge of your seat. The scenes seem disconnected and the movie is extremely stretched as it beats around the bush.
The movie starts by showing a series of blasts across the nation. As retaliation, Delhi police conducts an encounter at Batla House. The encounter becomes controversial as everyone thinks it is fake and the victims are not terrorists, but mere students. Chants of ‘Delhi police haye haye’ reverberate everywhere.
After that, the fight to prove the police’s righteousness begins. John Abraham does his job sincerely, but the script fails him. On the positive side, there are a few good scenes like the Batla House encounter itself. We don’t know what will happen in the second half but we are not looking forward to it.
