‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor is all set to release on 14th September. The shoot of the film was recently wrapped up in Mumbai with a special song.

Apart from Mumbai, the major parts of the film were shot in Tehri, Uttarakhand. The film directed by Shree Narayan Singh is a social drama based on the struggles of a common man against the power distribution companies over exorbitant electricity bills.

‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Shree Narayan Singh, Nitin Chandrachud, Kusum Arora and Nishant Pitti. The film also stars Yami Gautam in a lead role.

Earlier, the film was going to clash with Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Stree’ on the 31st of August.
‘Stree’ is a horror-comedy jointly produced by Dinesh Vijan and Raj and DK. The film is reportedly based on an urban legend, which originated in Chanderi village in Bhopal.

Recently, Shahid Kapoor fans took to Twitter to trend the hashtag #WeWantBGMCPoster. The ‘Haider’ actor chose to acknowledge this but did not reveal when the poster.

Apart from this project, Shahid Kapoor will soon begin shooting for the Hindi remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’ in Delhi. It is a story of a medical surgeon suffering from anger management issues who goes on a self-destructive path after his girlfriend marries someone else. The film was applauded by Baahubali director SS Rajamouli as well.
