Batti Gul Meter Chalu: Shahid rubbishes reports of not wanting to star opposite Katrina

Amidst the ongoing controversy related to the release of his upcoming film ‘Padmavati’, actor Shahid Kapoor is gearing up to start working on his next project. Titled ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, this film has been in the news for various reasons. But, the most important one being is that which actress will star opposite Shahid in this project. After the names of Anushka Sharma and Shraddha Kapoor doing rounds in the grapevine, it was being said the maker have roped in Katrina Kaif for the same.

However, today a leading daily carried the news that reportedly Shahid is not keen on sharing the screen space with Katrina. Further, it stated that he has even conveyed his reservations about this casting to the makers. But now, the actor has put an end to all these baseless speculations through social media. Reportedly, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is based on the problem of electricity in Delhi, and will also tackle the issue of electricity theft and scam.

The film is directed by ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ fame director Shree Narayan Singh and is produced by KriArj Entertainment and T-Series.
