As per a unique strategy adopted to promote the film, the makers of Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor’s ‘Befikre’ are one by one unveiling director’s notes that unravel the journey of ‘Befikre’. Called as ‘The Befikre Series’, it has the director, Aditya Chopra, discussing the making process of the film and how important it is to him. A third note from the series has been released now. This note describes about Vaani Kapoor aka Shyra’s character in the film. Stating that she is a French, but her parents are Indian, Shyra’s character is of that girl whose heart and soul belongs to the French paradise and has no traits that of an Indian.
Aditya has also described the reason why he chose Vaani to play this role. He says, “When I announced the film with Vaani Kapoor as Shyra, everyone was very surprised. I don’t blame them as I was surprised by my choice too. When I finished writing the script, the first thing that came instinctively to me was that Shyra should be played by someone new, someone who did not have a very strong identity with the Indian audience. I felt that will help them believe that this girl is truly from Paris.”
