Bhagyashree gets emotional as she recalls her parents’ objection to her wedding, says, ‘There was no one from my family’

Bhagyashree and Himalaya Dasani will be seen in Star Plus’ new reality show Smart Jodi. The channel has shared a promo video where Bhagyashree and Himalaya are seen tying the knot again and revisiting their old times when they got married. For the unversed, Bhagyashree and Himalaya got hitched in 1990, a year after the former’s debut Maine Pyar Kiya. In the video, Bhagyashree talks about her wedding day and gets emotional. She fights her tears. She also recalls how their families did not attend the wedding.

She said, “There was no one from my family at my wedding, and same was the case with my husband. When I told my parents that I want to get married to him, they didn’t agree”. She also said that parents have dreams for their children, but the kids have their own dreams and they should be allowed to live it. “And parents should allow the kids to live their dreams because at the end of the day, it is their life,” she added. Bhagyashree also said that she gets angry when people or media say she eloped with Himalaya because she thinks she “didn’t do that”. The story of Bhagyashree left her co-contestants also teary-eyed.

Bhagyashree and Himalaya’s relationship had to go through a lot earlier. This was revealed by the actress herself. Today, they are happily married and even after so many years of marriage, they are going strong. They have two children-Abhimanyu Dassani and Avantika Dassani. Both are actors.
