Superstar Salman Khan is gearing for the release of his upcoming much awaited period drama ‘Bharat’. The story of the film is based on a popular Korean movie ‘Ode To My Father’ and has Bollywood’s much-loved star Jackie Shroff playing father to the Dabangg Khan.
Salman Khan and Jackie Shroff have worked together in movies like ‘Bandhan’ (1998), ‘Sirf Tum’ (1999), ‘Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye’ (2000), ‘Kyon Ki’ (2005) and ‘Veer’ (2010). The actor who is just ten years older than Salman Khan says he has no qualms to play father figure to the Dabangg Khan as he feels Salman is like a bachcha to him.
In an interview to Midday Jackie said, “I am aware that the age gap is only 10 years. We started our careers almost around the same time, but I don’t have any problem playing his father. I have always treated Salman like my bachcha. Even today, he is like a kid to me.”
He further justified his role in Bharat and said that is he can play the role of Kareena Kapoor’s father in Yaadein, Aamir Khan’s in ‘Dhoom 3’. If the role is good and he is convinced about it then other factors don’t matter.
On the work front, Jackie Shroff will be seen as John Abraham’s mentor and an intelligence agency head in the film ‘Romeo Akbar Walter’. He also has a few south projects in his kitty including Vijay’s ‘Thalapathy 63’.
‘Bharat’ also stars Katrina Kaif, Sunil Grover, Tabu and Disha Patani. The film is all set to release on June 5.
