Director Omung Kumar has started working on his next film ‘Bhoomi’ which also is the comeback vehicle of Sanjay Dutt. The team was recently in a UP village to shoot for a night sequence. However, the shoot had to be cancelled after an unexpectedly large crowd gathered to get a glimpse of the stars.
“We were shooting at Kaushal Bajpai house in a village called Bamrauli Katara near Agra on Thursday. It was a night shoot and we had more than adequate security in place. Apart from Sanjay sir’s bodyguards, the state police force had deployed their men on location,” a source from the unit told Mid-day.
“We didn’t realise when the crowd wildly multiplied, with some turning unruly. It wasn’t safe for Sanjay sir to come out for the shoot. Aditi (Aditi Rao Hydari, dutt’s on-screen daughter) was also part of the scene. We waited for hours for the crowd to thin out before calling off the shoot,” he added. This is Dutt’s first film after years of imprisonment and the fans are going crazy in thrill. However, the makers did not assume it could lead to an entire schedule being postponed.
“We were all set to roll, but thousands of people just took over our set. We couldn’t manage the crowd; it was impossible to shoot that night. It was in the best interest of everyone to cancel it,” says Omung Kumar.
‘Bhoomi’ is said to be an intense emotional drama which revolves around the relationship between a father and a daughter.
