Ever since the trailer and songs of ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ have been released, just like us, we all are excited to watch this new venture starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar. Apart from the sensitive issue the film carries, it is the beautiful onscreen chemistry shared between Akshay and his co-star Bhumi Pednekar that is turning out to be a prime highlight of the movie. This will be Bhumi’s second release after her promising debut in Bollywood with ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. Recently, the actress was asked about her experience of working with Akshay for the first time. To which, she said that working with him on a daily basis was like a masterclass for her.
While giving an interview to a leading daily, the actress was asked that if she was nervous romancing Akshay Kumar. To which, she replied saying, “Romancing (Akshay) sir was like performing any other emotion with him. It’s easy, because he makes everything very easy. He doesn’t try and intimidate you, as he comes down to your level as a friend and a peer and he expects you to treat him like that. I think that works really well.” [sic] (Also Read: ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’: PM Narendra Modi watches the trailer, lauds Akshay Kumar’s effort)
Further, when asked that was it unnerving to work with him, the actress said, “Not at all. Before starting any new film, Akshay sir makes sure that he makes you very comfortable and it’s not just about me. Even for the technicians, the director, and the writer, he is at a high pedestal but he makes sure that he comes down (from the pedestal), and treats you as his equal. He, in fact, tells you, ‘I am your equal and let’s do this.’ Then, it only takes you a few seconds to be comfortable with him. There is nothing that I did differently with Ayushmann (‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’) that I didn’t do with sir as far as them being co-stars is concerned.” [sic]
“First, working with Akshay sir on a daily basis was like a masterclass. You can learn so much from him as a newcomer. He is a great example to have around, for his sheer professionalism and how dedicated he is about his work. The kind of hard-work he puts into his scenes, even before we started to shoot is exemplary. After our shoot everyday, the entire team including the writers, the director, Akshay sir and I would go through our scenes. Additionally, he was never late on sets. It literally reminded me of a horse who has his blinkers on, as far as his working style is concerned. His energy was so focused that it’s an inspiration,” added the actress. [sic]
Talking about the film ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’, it will also see actors like Divyendu Sharma and Anupam Kher playing pivotal roles. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film is slated to release on August 11, 2017.
Quiet, resonant, and creative, he can be seen immersed in his own world, and puts in his heart and soul into the one passion that he has, Bollywood. His line for survival? Feel happy to be a part of it.
