Bipasha Basu lashes out at a troll who accused her of undergoing skin whitening therapy

Bipasha Basu has praised HUL for dropping ‘Fair’ from Fair & Lovely. Also, the bong beauty shared her journey from being a model to a successful actor. She said that the colour of her skin (dusky) was always a topic of the discussion among her distant relatives. She wrote that when she started modelling and won the supermodel contest, all newspapers wrote ‘dusky girl from Kolkata is the winner’ which made her wonder again why ‘dusky’ is her first adjective.

She further wrote, “In most of my articles for all the work I did, my duskiness seemed to be the main discussion.. it attributed to my sex appeal apparently. And sexy in Bollywood started getting accepted widely. There was a strong mindset of Beauty and how an actress should look and behave. I was DIFFERENT as it was pointed out. Didn’t really stop me from being and doing all that I loved. Well, you see I was confident and proud of who I was from childhood.”

Bipasha also wrote that many skincare endorsements were offered to her with a good amount of money but she always stuck to her principles.

Bipasha was praised for raising her voice against the deep-rooted stigma. But an Instagram user wrote in her comment that Bipasha had taken skin whitening treatment to have a fairer skin tone. She lashed out at the user saying, “Really??? Thank you for telling me that. I have super sensitive skin and allergies. Have done 2 facials in my entire life because of it. But according to you I have done some lightening therapy???!!!! It’s amazing how an absolute stranger knows what I have done. Please rise above all this”.
