Soon after actresses like Shilpa Shetty, Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit added their husband’s surname to their maiden surname, the trend took over hugely. But seems like the new slot of married actresses are here to change that.
Preity Zinta, who recently got married to her LA beau Gene Goodnenough, chose not to change her name and keep it the way it is. And looks like Bipasha Basu too is opting for a similar approach. The actress apparently won’t be changing her surname to that of her husband, Karan Singh Grover’s. A source says to DNA, “Bipasha got married to Karan Singh Grover but she either has to change her name to Bipasha Singh Grover, or make it Bipasha Basu Singh Grover which would make it too long. Right now she’s choosing to stick to Basu. Everything from her Twitter handle to other stuff she’s signing as Bipasha Basu.”
The same way, Rani Mukerji too have stuck to her maiden name.
